Fashion Show

Miguel: Hey Beth, I did the coolest thing this weekend. I, uh, actually volunteered to work at a fashion show. And, um, because I’m kinda tall, they had me work the door, so I was like the bouncer.
Beth: Oh, how cool. Was it at a club or a museum?
Miguel: Well, it was at this really cool industrial building that was converted into a event space. And actually the space was amazing. Like, the ceilings were like 50 feet high and, um, it looked really like a big-time New York, you know, fashion show. But it was also cool because there was a huge line outside and I got to be kinda the person who, you know, let people in or didn’t, and, uh, you know, I had a lotta power.
Beth: That’s fun. Were you like a character from a movie? Like, “You, over there – you’re in!” And then picking and choosing all the people that were A-list.
Miguel: Well, I wanted to be be like that, but unfortunately it was more like whether or not they had tickets or not. You know, I couldn’t really do it based on how they looked. But, still it was like the show was getting close to sold out, so I got to sort of like tell people, like, break their heart and tell ‘em they weren’t going to get in, but then find out that I could let like 5 more people in. So, it was really cool.
Beth: That’s exciting. It’s always fun to be in charge of events.
