Fashion Show

Josh: Miguel, I heard you went to a fashion show. What was it like?
Migs: Well, yeah I did check out a fashion show and it was actually in this incredible building. One of the highlights was definitely the building that it was in – um, designed by a relatively famous new architect. So that was pretty cool, but other than that it was just a lot of people, a lot of weird clothes, um, a lot of beautiful girls, you know, all the good stuff that comes with a fashion show I guess.

Josh: That sounds great! Were the clothes from big name designers, like Calvin Klein, or what?

Migs: No, it wasn’t like the Ralph Lauren Polo. It was like local designers, you know? I guess, like, all of them from around Portland, or at least the Northwest area. Um, and I was really surprised at how innovative and interesting the clothes were.

Josh: So, was it like, clothes for guys and for girls, or was it just women’s clothes…?

Migs: For the most part it was women’s clothes, and it was women’s clothes that I don’t think “real women” ever wear. You know, most of them are so bizarre that it would have to be a real special occasion for anyone to wear them. But there were a few men’s things, um, none of which I would come close to wearing, but, you know, it’s cool to see stuff like that.

Josh: So, is it more like the clothes as art?

Migs: Definitely very artistic, and the presentation of the clothes is very artistic too. They did some strange things while they were walking around the runway, but for example, one person lit off fireworks while they were walking. Another person had a huge balloon, like maybe a balloon that was like five foot in diameter, so just some weird little quirky things going on.

Josh: That sounds really cool. You’ll have to let me know the next time they have one.

Migs: Yeah, totally, I’ll go back over and over again. It was awesome.
